Dear Student, today we will talk about the MLA esay writing style (format).
MLA essay writing style stands for Modern Language Association and was first published in 1985 by the Modern Language Association of America. Since then, it has become one of the commonly used by graduate students, professional and creative writers. The main purpose was to unify the writing styles into a single layout with strict rules as to the referencing and in text citations. MLA style by definition does not have a separate title page but has a separate reference page. The reference page often lists sources in the alphabetic order. MLA guidelines are strict – you can not bend or misinterpret such. Usually, the MLA essay writing format and guidelines are accompanied with text style as: 12 Times New Roman, double-spaced, 250-300 words per page. Wrong or bad MLA format itself will not score you a failing grade and is usually accounted for 10-20% of the papers grade. MLA writing style can easily be fixed and will not take much time as long as your references are identified.
